So where does it say that SiN is a top seller?

I don't see how this affects the multiplayer in any way.

Well, Emergence IS 10 dollars now.. That's not a lot of money, so it might have gotten a little sales boost lately And if it has, it's a nice strategy to get more people into Sin before the next episode. Any particular reason why you think ep2 is just around the corner?

It's a good sign, though I wouldn't read too much into it. Given the list of games it's behind and how long they've been out (e.g. I can't imagine Counterstike is still selling tens of thousands of copies a week), I imagine it wouldn't take huge sales numbers to get on that list right now.

Still, certainly better than nothing.

u said it
almost every game that comes out with a 2nd one, they will always drop the price of the game for a few weeks to get a large amount of sales, and get more peopel into the game so that way all the people that bought it for 10 bux, will buy the next one if they liked it.then about a month or less the next part of the game is out.

So in return of losing 10 bux for a week or so, they will in a way gain 30 bux...10 bux for game that is out of date, and 20 more bux for the game comming out.

In my opinion multiplayer could be released soon, but EP2 will definately take some time.

Let's compare SiN: Episode 2 again with Half-Life: Episode 2.
HL: Ep2 will be released in Februari and they don't have particularly much work because most of their materials existed already in the regular Half-Life 2. SiN Ep2 needs a lot more work:
* new weapons
* new models (both allies and enemies)
* new levels + propably a big deal new textures
+ if they want to implement features mentioned here on the forum

Other than that we would know if it was to be released any time soon, by screenshots and movies (like Ep 1).

Anyhow i hope multiplayer will be good, i'm looking forward to owning you sons of a b*tches, muhahahahha!

I am waiting for HL2:EP2 but there are still new things and improvements in HL2:EP2, So i still think it probably takes around the same time, but still sin ep 2 is gonna take a while.

either way i could care less when eps 2 comes out, but i think they will release them about the same time, so that way we have more guns to pick in multiplayer.

I think episode 2 is scheduled to be released this summer. Same time as Half-life 2 episode 2.

So they can repeat history and get killed by Half-Life again?

What exactly are you basing your conjecture on? The mere existence of episode 2 is still very much up in the air. Even if it is going to be a standard episodic release it would not be very prudent of Ritual to release anywhere within a month of HL2:Episode 2's release date.

According to the 6-8 month window officially given to us by Ritual, we have about 2-3 weeks to release

Now how many of us actually think that will happen , and how many think it will not & instead go into the MID list?

i think it may come out soon but im not doubting that it will be later aswell.

It will get crushed by HL2 EP2! if it comes out at the same time!!

It's just amusing to me as I got more out of Emergence than I did out of HL2ep1. Sure, HL2ep1 had a far more coherent story, but the gameplay just wasn't as fun.

So I sure as heck hope the second ep does better.

Until I know otherwise, I'm assuming it's coming. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to leave everyone hanging if it wasn't.

Ill agree, with that. sin was better i played half life ep 1 for like 30 mins and quit, and i'm never going to play it again, i hated every second of it. I did like half life 2, well 2 a point i did. Still haven't taken the time to finish it. But sin eps im playing for the 5th time now.......

I loved HL:EPS1 Some fun stuff and good gameplay but really i couldn't be botherd to play in again right after. Unlike Sin Episode 1 which i played multiple times.

I played through Hl2:Ep1 once, and haven't even been close to starting a new game. It's not that it wasn't pure quality from start to end, it's just that I didn't really have that much fun with.. It may be because, apart from the combine-zombie, there wasn't anything really new.

I think I might have spend at least 10 times more time with Emergence and its arena mode than with Hl2:ep1. I'm not saying Sin is the all-round better game, but it was simply more fun. I'll probably play through hl2:ep1 again when ep2 is getting close though, as a sort of 'preparation'..
