Ritual Entertainment QotW: Needs More Cowbell

As you all know, Ritual's history has been primarily first-person action games, with a smattering of third-person action thrown in for good measure. However, there are many lands where the Tribal tiki hasn't been seen, which leads to this week's QotW.
If you could pick one genre for Ritual to branch out into outside of Ritual's previously released library, what genre would it be and why?

Example: I'd like to see what Ritual could do with a turn-based strategy game because it would give me more time to admire the characters.
Keep it constructive, and have fun.

RPG for sure, set in a dystopia martial state such as Freeport, possibly 20 or 30 years later (2070's) so that a more cyberpunk landscape has developed.

RPGs suck your life away, RTS or a third person action game like FAKK would be awesome. RTS is probably the best game type if done right.

Second Person Shooter.... and be able to play as The Bruce Dickinson! Cos I feel that is the only thing missing.

heh HardCorps Vs Sintek RTS ^_^ That will work in my book.

An RPG/FPS (ala System Shock series and Dark Messiah)would be a good idea.

RPG/FPSRPG would be my first choice with RTS following close behind. MMORPG might be too much of a genre leap and potential deathtrap, but Blizzard managed to pull it off with extreme success.

Perhaps an Abomination-style FPSRPG? Choose missons as they appear, select your squad from the Hardcorps roster, recruit new members, increase your teammates and own statistics by parcipating in missions, use funds earned and found to equip your teammates, borrow experimental weaponry and items, keep the peace, stop Elexis and her quest to mutate the world's population.

What about XORG? Persistant World First Person Shooter Role Playing Games. Something like Freeport City would be quite good. But more I like even darker and post apocalyptic worlds. Since Neocron there was nothing in this genre for years now. And Neocron is dying because the developers suck. Do it. Please do it. Give my life a reason again. Thanks.

Team FPS

*Player Class base.
*Weapons system with upgrades.
*Push style game-play, Attack and Defense.

FPS/RPG/MMO would be an interesting mix.

Ultimately stick with what you know and expand from there, building on additional elements as you see fit until the world evolves into something more than just another FPS.

Personally I don't think there are enough Resident Evil style games around that have pulled it off as well as the Capcom originals. A good third person horror/suspense title is a beautiful thing.

How about a racing game like carmageddon. Crashday and Flatout tried to do it, but failed because of the lack of what made Carmageddon great.

They had no civilians to drive over for points and time bonuses, no insane funky weapons and couldn't repair and upgrade your car on the fly.

So far I don't think any car game has been able to achieve the fun of Carmageddon 1 & 2. Even Carmageddon TDR 2000 didn't manage to repeat what it's predecessors did.

I'd like to see a thrid person action adventure game with melee combat and funky ass environments. Expand on the sword play from FAKK2.

I hear Carmageddon. Racing needs more unusual titles. Just a few weeks ago I was talking to people (iRL, where it usually goes in one ear and out the other) about Big Red Racing. That was a damn fun game. "Go, stupido!" Heheh.

Had to love racin around in caterpillars n stuff.
