Winning an argument on an internet forum is a bit like winning a gold medal in the Special Olympics anyway, if you catch my drift.

Good job. You're the first person who has said that quote and not finished with "you're still retarded..." Glad to see some people actually try new things rather than keep rehashing the same mantras.

You wanna bet? I guarentee you will change your mind after you realise the EASY and SIMPLICITY of buying online. It's all I ever do now.

When you are a new "online shopper," you get nervous about way too many things. But trust me on this, you'll change your mind in the coming years.

Anyways...

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. Keep in mind that I'm just getting my feet wet... By buying a laptop from HP over the phone yesterday for a couple grand after taxes. =)

And I'm inclined to agree that people will pirate software no matter what. Some people are just downright malicious / ignorant. The way I see it is that if I rightfully pay for my copy, I can say that in no way did I contribute to the business's downfall.

Then again, I buy my games when they come down in price substantially (i.e. a $60-$70 Canadian title comes down to $20-40). With games like F.E.A.R. and Half-Life 2, they tend not to come down in retail price due to their popularity. I'll probably pony up the difference in cash sometime in the future for them, should I choose to get either.

Or, as you said, I can try my hand at the internet.

If I was trying to win, I wouldn't be arguing theoreticals.

Since there's nothing either of us can point to as direct proof, it could go on forever.

But I feel like I pointed out enough fallacies for the month.

Is it pay-per-view? Because, you know... I don't have a credit card to use.

I'll need payment in advance for that to happen.

What happened to the original thread - pirating?

I'm proud to say that all my titles are legit. The one thing that does frustrate me though is having to buy 2 copies of the game just so that I can enjoy some LAN-based deathmatches with my kid. No mature games yet - just T like Warcraft & Jedi Knights.

We usually wait until they come out in the bargain bin and then get the additional copies required.

It would be cool to have like a X-user license for the game so that you could host some home gaming.

That sums it up for me, but I almost never buy second copies. Sometimes I do, like Freelancer and Generals+Zero Hour, but in general it's one only. I don't own both of these comps technically, but the person who does own #2 always leaves it here with me anyway, so I don't feel like I'm being a horrible person by letting him play my games with me for the whole month that he's home.

Man, that always irritated me. Tempts me to go to consoles, but until now, consoles were pretty much a joke power wise.
