Mumbo bought Ritual to make casual games, they are employing them to make casual games, not to make SiN, to patch SiN, or to continue SiN. So far, all comments regarding SiN/Mumbo seem like carefully worded press releases meant to not discourage SiN fans and get as little ill will from them as possible. And seeing as how Mumbo will be paying Ritual to make Mumbo style games, I doubt that any Ritual employee will have much time outside of work to complete work on a patch or multiplayer.

Seriously, how often do casual games get patched?

Well, in response to that, Mumbo seems pretty weird in my eyes, SiN is Ritual's biggest game, and putting the lid on something like that can be seen to be an act out of jealousy or something. SiN is big, Mumbo know it, the fact that they're not continuing SiN, says to me, something fishy's going on!
