Default Quake :Scourge of Armagon freeware?

I'm not sure if it's possible, it's rather difficult to find it in stores and really the only place to get is either, bittorrent, or some used version off of Ebay or Amazon. Could you possibly release it as freeware or is that Activision's/Id's decision?

This is really up to id, since it's their IP and their product.

Wasn't Quake II and all its expansions just re-released with the Quake 4 special edition?

Correct, but Scourge is an expansion set for Quake 1.

Funny how I knew that, yet never owned Quake and only owned a copy of Quake II a long, long time ago.

Oh, right. I kinda missed the Quake I era and went directly into Quake II.

Quake 1 was my starting point to play online fps games, there were others before it, but i played them only with my friends via Lan or modem, it was fantastic to play with some many players at the same time. Q1 to Q4, yeah, i have them all
