Default Quick question for Ritual about Source version for Ep 2.

Are you guys using the updated version of Source now (I assume so)? Also, I would take it that means that you will be implementing HDR into Episode 2 - any thoughts on retroactively updating Emergence with HDR as well? Of course, when (if) you actually have some spare time...

P.S. Yes, this is also a ploy to get you guys active in the forums again. Heh.

They don't need to be active. They've got me!

Eheheh, yeah, right. Anyway, I wouldn't expect much. I've been around a few dev forums and they're usually very quiet about progress except when a project is starting and when a project is ending.

If I ever do get my website going, Ritual will definately be one of the companies I focus on But I've got bigger things to worry about for now.

HDR is dumb, go for parallax mapping.

updating episode 1 shouldn't be too hard because IIRC it was done for half-life 2 after they made lost-cost right?

as for parallax mapping...

Michael isn't exactly the only guy in the company, but he's the only guy I talk to, so thats what I've got to go on...after launch he mentioned he was a bit worried about how some users would react to the large download, but it was possible.

I hope it'll happen

Actually, I just noticed on his page that it says this:

"December 1, 2006: Updated main page, resume. I'm looking."

So now two people have left... I hope Ritual isn't, you know...

I noticed Mike's not a moderator anymore and why did he leave the company?

Yeah, I just noticed that as well. We found out this week that 2 of their guys have left. I'm hoping it's not more than just two...

Yeah, I know what you mean... Ritual, can we get an official announcement to alleviate some of our fears (or uphold them)?

An official announcement is forthcoming - can't really comment on anything before that. Ninjas with sharp objects falling from ceilings and through windows and all that.

Ninjas tried out for the first episode. They didn't make the cut.

Or JC Denton(, because everyone wants to get sued by Eidos....right???)

Yarr. I am excited.
Emergence was the most unexpected fun title I bought, so...! Bring it!

In the meantime, I suppose I should get a real job so I can get a new PC.

Why wait for them to add it when someone has already made a pretty optimized shader

Just so you to know I played 007:nightfire a year or two back, the game was O.K. but they had this one ninja battle that was pretty cool.

the ninja ran around dodging and would shoot a silenced smg, but if you got too close it would pull out a sword start hacking you up. it was probably the best boss fight in the game.

now, ninjas can fit just about anywhere, (although the level was in japan) and they make a very good agility boss (where the quad is a tank boss). simply if sintek is performing a hostile takeover, they need an assassin to deal with Blade (although radek would be more inclined to hire an assassin as elexis doesn't want to kill Blade, just mutate him)

Because I am lazy. If they use HL2 Ep2's engine that would be good too.
