Welcome to the Ritualistic Forums.
As with any online community, it was necessary to impose several rules and guidelines in order to maintain a healthy and thriving forum environment for visitors of all age groups. All of these rules are fairly common sense, and we hope that you take the time to read them fully. You may view these rules at any time at http://www.ritualistic.com//forums/rules.php?Cat=, or by clicking the Forum Rules link in the left menu bar on the main page of Ritualistic.com.
Please note that failure to comply with these rules may result in your posting privileges being revoked.
By registering a forum account, you agree to abide by the following:
No Pornographic Material
Posting or linking pornographic images, videos, or websites will not be tolerated. Posts containing such material will be edited or removed entirely.
No Warez or Illegal Software
Asking for, suggesting to get, or linking warez and/or illegal software, as well as websites directly offering or otherwise aiding in the distribution of said material is not acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to, illegal copies of applications, games, movies, as well as copyrighted music.
In addition, posts containing links to websites offering programs bypassing copy protection, key generators, registration keys and/or product keys, as well as posting such registration and/or product keys will not be tolerated. We will remove any such posts from the boards, and reserve the right to close the account of the offending poster without prior notice.
No Copyrighted Material or Private Information
Posts containing any material likely to cause offence, that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner of such copyright will not be tolerated.
Furthermore, posting private information of individuals and/or companies without their permission is prohibited. Such information includes, but is not limited to, phone numbers, electronic mail or physical addresses, and instant messenger contact information.
No Swearing
While we realize that debates can get heated at times, excessive use of swear words will not be tolerated.
No Personal Attacks
Posts harassing or threatening other board members will not be tolerated. Furthermore, posts embarassing or containing unwanted information about other board members may be edited or removed at the request of the affected individual(s).
No Spam / Thread Bumping
Spamming, i.e. posting the same topic or reply multiple times will not be tolerated. If you accidentally post a message multiple times, click the edit icon on the duplicate post(s) and then, on the edit screen, click the 'Delete Post' button to delete it.
So-called "thread bumping", i.e. bringing a topic back to the top of the topic listing by posting a useless reply (like "bump"), is neither constructive nor necessary. If people are interested in a particular topic, they will reply to it, thus conveniently keeping topics of interest near the top of the post list.
No Advertising / Promotions
We will not tolerate posts containing advertisements, commercial solicitations of any kind, chain letters, as well as posts making any other kind of commercial use of these message boards.
No Impersonations
Impersonating other board members will not be tolerated and result in the removal of the offending post(s), as well as the account of the offending poster.
Use the Correct Forum
Even though this should be fairly obvious, please post your topic in the corresponding forum. Elite Force II and Star Trek-related issues should be posted in the Elite Force II forums, while topics-related to other Ritual games should be posted in the respective game forums. For general chat and things not related to any of Ritual's products, please use the Miscellaneous Forum.
Moderators have the right to move any threads or individual posts they feel have been posted in the wrong forum.
Descriptive Topics
Using descriptive topics makes it a lot easier for people to figure out what they are / are not interested in. At the same time, try to keep your titles at a reasonable length. In addition, board moderators have the right to edit any topics they feel are misleading.
Check Older Topics
Before posting a question, please take a few minutes to use the search function to check older topics and see if your question has already been answered.
Use Spoiler Warnings & Tags
Please remember to put spoiler warnings in the topic when talking about events in a game's single player campaign. In addition, this board software features spoiler tags to mask certain content. Similar to other UBB tags, their usage is as follows:
Text you want to mask
Constructive Criticism
As with any other game in development, we will see new screenshots and footage as time progresses. You are welcome to express your opinion, however, do it in a constructive fashion, instead of just stating, "This sucks". Such "slam postings" are not helpful in any way and will be removed.
Also, keep in mind that until a game ships, nothing is final, and it's likely that assets will undergo further revisions.
Using Personal Messages
The board has a feature called 'Personal Message'. If you want to talk to somebody on the board personally then use this feature instead of making useless thread. To use it, just click on the 'Personal Message' icon above somebody's post. For convenience you can also enable e-mail alerts when somebody messages you.
Due to the nature of private messages, they are not moderated. If you are repeatedly sent offensive material, please notify one of the moderators. Please note that while we do not examine private messages on a regular basis, we reserve the right to do so if we are notified of users abusing the system. Keep this in mind when sending sensitive material using this feature.
Avatars
Avatars are the small pictures that appear under your name in each of your posts.
Avatar images must be 100x100 pixels or smaller, with a filesize of no more than 15 KB.
Furthermore, avatars of pornographic or otherwise offensive nature will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove any avatars violating these rules.
Signatures
Each forum user is permitted to have a personalized signature that appears with every post. Signatures may contain text and/or images, and may not be more than 100 pixels tall. The total filesize of all images used in the signature may not exceed 50KB. Signatures of pornographic or otherwise offensive nature will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to edit or remove any signatures violating these rules.
Special Board Members
This BBS uses a custom rank system. Members of Ritual Entertainment can easily be identified by their red names and the Ritual Entertainment logo underneath their name.
Game developers, employees of publishers (such as Activision), and licensors (such as Paramount), are indicated by blue names and/or having the company name underneath their name.
Ritualistic staff are indicated by black names and/or having "Ritualistic Staff" underneath their name, while Community Moderators have green names and the community moderator title.
Failure to comply with these rules and guidelines may result in the removal of the offending post(s), as well as your posting privileges. Since this is a privately owned message board, we reserve the right edit or remove any posts for any or no reason whatsoever.
If you feel that there has been a violation of these forum rules, please click the Notify Moderator icon () on the offending post to report that post to our staff.
Our moderators and administrators have the right to close or remove any threads they feel are inappropriate. Upon closure of a thread, members are not allowed to start a topic with the same name, or one discussing why said thread was closed. All questions and remarks regarding closed or deleted threads must be sent privately via email or the private message feature to the moderator(s) of the respective forum.
